Nonsense,Nonsense

Today I was given such a huge shock....I'm like....STILL in shock as I'm writing this....just..wow.

It all started when I was having an innocent conversation with some friends today about movies. One of them brought up that there is a new "Alice in Wonderland" remake coming out and we all agreed to go see it when it comes out. All at once I was instantly reminded of another version of Alice in Wonderland that I was OBSESSED with as a kid. It was a 1980's TV version of Alice in Wonderland that my mother had taped YEARS before I was even born. I remember I used to watch the tape of that movie literally ALL the time from the ages of 4 to about 7.

Anywho, to this day it's my favorite version of Alice in Wonderland so I casually said "hey that's cool, I'm down for seeing the new one, but I'll always love the one from the 80's."

Now, not all of my friends were quite as familiar as I was with this version, and after my insistence that it was definitely the best one out there... even BETTER than the animated one (do I dare make such a claim?) they became curious and wanted to see for themselves. That old tape is LONG gone by now, so where's the next best place to look for something so vintage? Youtube,of course!

So off we go.We typed "Alice in Wonderland 80s" in the Youtube search engine and immediately found some short clips from the movie.I haven't seen the movie since I was 7 so it was SO freakin' WEIRD for me to watch it.

Okay, heres where it gets CRAZY...

we browsed a couple of other clips when..all of a sudden... one my friends sees something I didn't.The conversation went like this:

"hey look it says Ringo Starr"

"huh?!"

"it says Ringo Starr in Alice in Wonderland!"

"WHAT!?!?"

"yeah!"

"PLAY THE VIDEO!!!"

And that Ladies and Gentleman....is how I found out that Ringo was in the movie that I was beyond obsessed with when I was little.I'd really like to know what kind of ROCK I'm living under. It was only a couple of months ago that I found out he was apart of "Thomas the tank engine" and I never thought I could be any more shocked after I found THAT one out. But no...this one far surpassed that shock.

Anywho we watched the clip and it immediately brought back SO many memories of my childhood and my love for this movie.I actually remembered the WORDS to the song he sang and that scene SO freakin well....god how the HECK did I not know that was him?!?

I told my friends I feel like I was just told after all these years that my father isn't my real father haha THAT'S how shocked I was, and STILL am.Between this movie and Thomas the Tank Engine, I think it's safe to say that Ringo Starr, of all people, was instrumental in the shaping of childhood. And I never knew it until now.

I need some time to process this.If you're interested in seeing the clip, here it is:

I just can't believe this....I knew Ringo as a turtle before I knew him as a Beatle :(
